The bill to taxpayers for last year’s cabinet formation process reached €692,179, the Telegraaf said on Wednesday, quoting parliamentary accounts.

Officials will not go into details about what the money was spent on, but a spokeswoman said the bill covers personnel and material costs between March 15 and October 15.

The process to create the current four-party coalition took 225 days which is the longest cabinet formation since WWII. The previous cabinet took 52 days to put together and cost €200,000.
