Dutch financial markets watchdog uses Heineken stationery, blames printers

Dutch financial markets watchdog AFM has sent a letter to dozens of financial advisors printed on Heineken letter paper, the Financieele Dagblad reported on Friday.

The letter was to invite them to complete the annual AFM market monitor which consultants are required to file. The information in the monitor is used to signal trends and risks in financial markets.

‘Apparently we use the same printer as Heineken. Luckily it was a relatively small mailing,’ an AFM spokeswoman told the paper. ‘We rang them all up and sent them a proper letter on the proper stationery,’ she added.

One recipient of the original AFM letter printed on the brewer’s stationery said ‘to be honest I hadn’t even read the letter before the AFM rang me up.’
