Court orders Chinese owner pay ADO Den Haag €2.5m

adoThe Chinese owner of The Hague football club ADO Den Haag has been ordered to pay the club nearly €2.5m, which the club says it is owed.

The court said that the club had proved it had reached an agreement with Hui Wang’s company United Vansen in 2015 and should have been paid €3.7m. ‘United Vansen has failed to meet the terms of the agreement,’ the court said.

The club is currently in special measures and faces further sanctions from the Dutch FA if it does not get its finances in order by February.

No-one representing Wang or United Vansen attended the court hearings or the verdict, news website Nu.nl said. Wang claims to have put €5m into the club.

At the end of December, the company court in Amsterdam suspended Wang from the club’s board and stripped him of his voting rights.
