Wesley Sneijder replaces injured Van Persie, Robben as Oranje captain

MLS 2011 - Jun 3 - DC United at Los AngelesWesley Sneijder will captain the Dutch national football team in its next two international matches in the absence of Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben.

Both Van Persie and Robben are out through injury. Sneijder was captain under Louis van Gaal when he became Dutch coach in 2012, although the role was later transferred to Van Persie.

Oranje meet Turkey in a key Euro 2016 qualifier at the Arena stadium in Amsterdam on March 28.

Oranje is currently third in group A with six points from four matches. Turkey is fourth with four points.
