Three dead in car crash following police chase

Dutch police car close-upThree people were killed during a police chase near Kampen on the N50 on Wednesday night.

Two of the dead, a 68-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman from Emmeloord, were killed in the two-car collision. The man being chased by police also died.

The chase followed a report of a violent domestic incident in Bedum in Groningen province earlier that evening. The alleged perpetrator fled the scene in a car which was then spotted on the N50, prompting the pursuit.

Police are now investigating the cause of the collision. The N50 near Kampen has no central reservation and is known as an accident black spot, local media reported.
