Fewer freelancers now work full time thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, even though one in three would like to work more hours.

In total, 895,000 people were full time (more than 35 hours a week) freelancers last year, a drop of 44,000 on 2019, national statistics agency CBS said on Monday.

On in three freelancers who works less than 20 hours a week would like to increase the number of hours they work, compared with one in four before the pandemic hit.

This is particularly the case with people working in the creative industries, cultural sector and performing arts, the CBS said.
