A man from Zeeland who sexually abused his stepdaughters and prostituted them out to strangers should be jailed for six years followed by psychiatric prison, the public prosecution department told judges in Middelburg on Monday.

Pascal P, 47, from Aardenburg is said to have forced at least one of the girls to have sex hundreds of times with strangers, at a car park in Zeeland and at four Belgian swingers clubs. She was drugged using sleeping pills, ghb and alcohol while the abuse took place.

There is no evidence the man was paid by the abusers but they did give the girls presents, and this is sufficient to prosecute him for human trafficking, the court was told, broadcaster NOS reported.

The man has admitted having sex with both girls, but says it was with their consent. The girls, now aged 20 and 14, were eight and nine when the abuse started. It was still continuing up to his arrest last year.

The girl’s mother is also facing charges in connection with the abuse but her trial was halted last week when she became ill. The women’s lawyer says she is suffering from serious kidney failure.

Tanja D told the court during the first day of the hearings that she did not play an active role in the abuse, but Whatsapp chats between her and P show she played an important role and even drugged her daughter to ‘make it easier’.
