Next Wednesday night at around midnight will be the best time to watch the Perseids meteor shower  but cloudy skies may spoil the fun.

The peak of this year’s show will feature 40 to 50 shooting stars per hour, considerably fewer than two years ago when over a 100 meteors penetrated the earth’s atmosphere.

The Perseids put in an appearance every year around August 12 and 13. Weather bureau Weeronline said it is expecting clear skies with some cloud at times on the evenings in question.
