Dutch railway company NS introduced its new timetable on Sunday, but there is little change for most travellers, the state-owned company said.

The main change is the introduction of more trains on some routes, such as between Amersfoort and Utrecht and between Dordrecht and Eindhoven. There will also be two rather than one night trains between Amsterdam and Haarlem.

This summer, the number of services to the seaside resort of Zandvoort will also be stepped up.

The next major shake-up of services is likely to be in two years time, when more trains will run between Utrecht, Arnhem and Schiphol airport.
