Gelderland police have arrested a father and son team who had set up a business sending ecstasy pills abroad.

The 63-year-old man and his 39-year-old son had a supply of some 25,000 pills at their homes and at other locations, plus envelopes and large quantities of nuts and sweets. The duo had used the sweet packaging to disguise the drugs.

Police picked up the trail of the duo a few weeks ago after nine envelopes containing the party drug were intercepted in a short space of time. The envelopes had been heading for the US, Poland and India among other places, police said.

The investigation is now focusing on where the men got the drugs, how much money they have made and who their customers are.
