A Dutch draughts coach and tournament organiser faces legal action after he was caught filming guests having showers while staying at his home, RTL Nieuws said on Wednesday.

The camera was spotted in the shower by a guest from Belarus who was attending an international draughts tournament. The suspect, named as Henk S from Culemborg, is known to have offered places to stay to players attending the competitions.

He was arrested in June and since then, more reports have been made about hidden cameras to the Dutch draughts association. The man is also suspected of possessing child pornography.

He has denied the charges and says the camera was placed in the shower so he could monitor the effects of the rheumatism he suffers.

No date has yet been set for the trial, RTL Nieuws said.

According to local paper De Gelderlander, the arrest has shocked the draughts world. S was in possession of a certificate of good behaviour (VOG) which is required by everyone who works with youngsters.
