Police have arrested a family doctor from Brunssum in Limburg who is suspected of sexually  abusing a patient, local paper De Limburger reports.

The doctor in question had been accused of engaging in unwanted sex with another patient last year but the judge in that case said there was not enough proof of abuse.

During the trial, the doctor said the patient had made advances towards him and that he should not have responded. The public prosecution department, which had demanded a sentence of 18 months, appealed agains the verdict.

The current case involves another patient, the Limburger reports. The public prosecution department did not want to comment.
