Mystery as Groningen man stabbed to death out jogging

The man, who was 25, was attacked while running on the Jaagpad along a waterway in the north west of the city. Many sports clubs are located in the vicinity.

‘We are looking at every scenario,’ a police spokesman told RTV Noord. ‘We can rule nothing out. One option is that the victim was chosen at random.’

The police had initial difficult in identifying the 27-year-old because he was out running and not carrying ID.

Based on witness statements, police said they are looking for a man who is aged 20 to 30, between 1.70 and 1.80 metres tall and of ‘southern European’ appearance.
