Airline KLM transported a record 32.7 million passengers in 2017, a 7.5% increase over the previous year, according to website Nu.nl.

The Dutch flag carrier’s load factor was 1.2 percentage points higher at 88.4% – the highest increase among European airlines, the website said.

Passenger growth was a bit lower year-on-year at 4%, largely due to the December snow, when hundreds of flights were cancelled too and from Schiphol.

KLM’s budget subsidiary Transavia transported 14.8 million people last year, a rise of 11% on 2016.  KLM’s sister carrier Air France moved 51.3 million passengers last year, a 3% increase.
