A 30-year-old Dutchman wanted in connection with a shooting incident at a Marbella brothel in September has been arrested in Oslo, Spanish media have reported.

Five people were injured in the shooting and Spain had issued an international arrest warrant for the Dutchman.

Spanish police said that the man tried to evade arrest by showing a fake Dutch passport. In addition he had burned the top of his fingers so that he could not be identified by his finger prints.

According to Spanish media, the man used an automatic weapon to shoot people in the brothel an hour after he had been involved in a fight there. He then made off in a car. The burnt out wreck of the car was found the next day, but the man himself had vanished.

He was arrested in Norway on December 21 and is now in custody, awaiting extradition.

The four others involved in the brothel shooting were arrested, one of whom was a French national wanted on drugs, murder and arms smuggling charges. A second man was from Belgium.
