A beachcomber on the Wadden Sea island of Terschelling is trying to track down the relatives of a man named Steve Hall after finding part of a memorial to him washed up on the beach.

Guus van Dieren found a wooden post from what appears to be a bench on the beach on Sunday between the villages of Midsland and Formerum and believes it may have come over from Britain.

Van Dieren does not have much to go on because the plaque only gives the name and birth and death dates, plus the motto ‘Rides on forever in our hearts and minds’.

If you know who Steve Hall is, you can get in touch with editor@DutchNews.nl or contact Terschelling beach bar De Branding @debrandingsts
