Almost 11 year jail sentence for webcam paedophile

Webcam paedophile and child abuser Aydin C. has been jailed for almost 11 years, reports NOS broadcaster on Thursday.

The Dutchman abused dozens of girls across the world, inciting them to perform sexual acts on webcam and then blackmailing them by threatening to share the footage with friends and family.

A judge in Amsterdam said his treatment of 34 victims was relentless; he would warn he would drive them to suicide if they did not post more images. ‘The girls were ambushed in a sophisticated way by a cunning adult,’ said the judge.

When one girl threatened to take her life, he responded: ‘Your choice J’

One Canadian girl, Amanda Todd, did kill herself, leaving behind a YouTube message saying she was harassed for years by a stranger, who blackmailed her about nude pictures.

She committed suicide in 2012, and a Canadian court has been granted leave to extradite and try C. This alleged crime was not part of the Dutch case.

He was actually picked up by police on another investigation involving fraud, and an analysis of his computer revealed he had approached more than 70 girls in five minutes in a chat room.

The abuser had denied that he blackmailed the girls and refused to have a psychiatric assessment which meant he has been sentenced to jail rather than being sent to undergo psychiatric treatment. He was not present for the verdict, although families could follow the case from a separate room.
