The woman found dead in a hotel on Amsterdam’s Vossiusstraat on Sunday died from drinking too much water, police said on Friday.
The woman had been drinking water after taking soft drugs, the police said. ‘It was a lot more than a couple of litres,’ a spokesman told the Telegraaf.
They have not yet revealed the woman’s identify or where she came from.
Drinking an extreme amount in a short time can be dangerous by causing the level of salt in the blood to drop too low which can eventually lead to seizures or a coma and death.
