Gantz picked up the Bafta award at a ceremony in London on Sunday night. The film, which has won several prizes at film festivals around the world, was her final project at the National Film and Television School in London.
Edmond tells the story of a man with cannibalistic tendencies who wants to be close to his loved ones. Gantz herself has described it as ‘a story of all-consuming love, told with handmade felt puppets and 2D drawn animation’.
Gantz is the daughter of Dutch actress Loes Luca and is now working in London on her first feature.
