Thousands of people in the Netherlands have kicked off 2016 by taking part in a traditional New Year’s swim.
The biggest event takes place in Scheveningen, which was held for the 56th time and attended by around 10,000 people. The sea temperature was a relatively ‘warm’ 8.5 degrees, news website Nu.nl said.
