Artist Jan Montyn dies at 90

The Dutch artist Jan Montyn died in Amsterdam on Thursday night. He was 90 years old.

Montyn, who specialised in etching, was inspired by the wars he had witnessed: World War II, the Korean war and the wars in Cambodia, Vietnam and Burma.

His work can be seen in the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
