‘Zionist plot’ civil servant will not get her job back

The civil servant who said terrorist Islamic State (Isis) is a zionist plot will not return to her job and may be sacked all together, justice minister Ivo Opstelten said on Friday.

Yasmina Haifi, on detachment at the National Cyber Security Centre, sent a tweet on Wednesday saying the Islamic State does not exist and is a zionist plot to discredit Muslims.

She later deleted the tweet saying: ‘Realise the political sensitivity in relation to my work’.

She was suspended on Wednesday afternoon.

‘She will not be coming back to this job. Never,’ Opstelten said, adding he was shocked by the content of the tweet.

‘What someone’s personal opinion is, is not my business,’ the minister told Dutch media. ‘It is about what you make public when you are a civil servant.’

Opstelten said the ministry is looking into other measures and sacking her has not been ruled out.
