Local branches of the Labour party in areas where the JSF fighter jet will be stationed have called on their MPs to vote against buying the plane.
If the Netherlands goes ahead with the purchase, the jets will be stationed at airbases in Leeuwarden and in Volkel.
But local Labour supporters say MPs must stick to the agreement made by the party congress in 2009 which said no decision should be taken until the cost of the project and noise levels had been finalised.
There have been reports the JSF is up to 22 decibels louder than the current F16 jets during take off and landing.
Although the PvdA has not yet taken an official decision, many insiders expect the cabinet will announce the purchase of 35 JSF aircraft during next year’s budget presentation on Tuesday.
