Zwolle pays €87,000 to teach 30 pensioners how to use an iPad

Zwolle city council has paid €87,000 for lessons to teach 30 pensioners how to use an iPad, local broadcaster RTV Oost reported on Friday.

The course involved teaching pensioners how to use the internet and social media. They also learned how to install a memory game and send messages.

Local political parties say they are shocked at the cost of the course – which works out at almost €3,000 per person. The iPads themselves were not supplied.
