The average working week in the Netherlands is now 34.4 hours, compared with 36.7 hours five years ago, the national statistics office CBS said on Monday.
Women now work an average of 28.4 hours and men 39.2 hours. The working population totalled 7.4 million in 2010, the CBS said.
