Amsterdam behaved correctly in withdrawing Direct Wonen’s licence

Amsterdam city council acted properly when it took away the operating licence from Direct Wonen, the Netherlands’ biggest housing agency, the company court ruled on Wednesday.

Direct Wonen lost its licence to operate in Amsterdam a year ago after ‘consistently breaking city council rules’. In particular, Direct Wonen is accused of letting out rent controlled properties at far above the permitted rent levels.
Direct Wonen pulled out of the London AIM stock exchange earlier this year.
