Murder trial of Dutch architect begins
The murder trial of Vincent Tabak, who is accused of strangling Joanna Yeates shortly before Christmas, began on Monday.
The 33-year-old Dutch architect has already admitted manslaughter but denies premeditated murder.
Tabak. who lived in the ground-floor flat adjoining Yeates’, is accused of killing her after she went for festive drinks with colleagues.
She was reported missing and her body found covered in snow in a lane near Bristol on Christmas Day.
The prosecution told the court that in the days following the murder Tabak played the concerned neighbour.
‘He was able to manipulate and mislead others and to hide his inner feelings. He was in complete control and knew what he was doing,’ prosecutor Nigel Lickley said.
The trial continues.
