AkzoNobel cuts jobs, shares downgraded

Coatings giant AkzoNobel is to scrap over one hundred jobs in the Benelux and reorganise its decorative paints division, the NOS website reports on Friday.

The company wants to work faster and more efficiently in a period of decreasing demand for paint and increasing prices for raw materials.
Most of the job losses are likely to be in marketing and sales which employs 750 people, says NOS.
Meanwhile, SNS Securities on Friday downgraded its advice on buying AkzoNobel shares from ‘buy’ to ‘accumulate’, reports the Telegraaf.
