To Horse!Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668) specialised in paintings showing hunting parties, landscapes and battles all featuring horses, often with a white horse as the focal point. His work was extremely popular during his lifetime but today he is little known. This exhibition features a large selection of his canvases, many of them on loan from private collections. Mauritshuis, The Hague until February 28. |
