Alexander Rodchenko: Revolution in Photography
The Russian artist Alexander Rodchenko (1891-1956) is probably best known for the paintings he made before turning to photography in the 1920s. His photos, socially engaged, innovative and often shot from odd angles, form a visual document of the rise of Stalinist ideology in Russia and a portrait of Moscow as its new architecture was being built.
