Two arrested in Utrecht disturbances13-03-2007 Police arrested two people last night after disturbances broke out in the Ondiep area of Utrecht. One police officer was slightly injured when stones were thrown at a police car. The trouble was apparently connected to the shooting dead of an Ondiep man by police on Sunday night. It began when a large group of youths began to move through the neighbourhood, throwing stones and setting small fires. Attempts were made to set a police station on fire and its windows were smashed. Riot police were brought in to disperse the gang. Mayor Annie Brouwer-Korf has appealed for calm. © DutchNews.nl |
