Man dies as ‘beer bike’ is hit by train in Eindhoven

The wrecked beer bikeOne man was killed when a ‘beer bike’ became stuck on a level crossing in Eindhoven and was hit by a train on Monday evening.

The ‘beer bike’ was being used by 15 to 20 members of a local football team celebrating their team becoming league champions when it was hit.

The 24-year-old who died had been injured in the match and was unable to flee the oncoming train in time, eyewitnesses told local broadcaster Omroep Brabant.

The accident halted train traffic on the Eindhoven-Weert route for several hours.
