Train services again hit by chaos at Utrecht

Aerial view of Dutch train at a bridge crossing a canalA broken overhead cable caused chaos again on train services to and from Utrecht on Monday morning.

Services to Schiphol, The Hague, Breukelen, Den Bosch and Nijmegen are all being affected and passengers are being advised to avoid Utrecht if possible.

Engineers are trying to repair the cable but such work ‘always takes a long time’, an NS spokesman said.

Train services to and from Utrecht were disrupted one month ago because of a major signalling and points failure.
