Dutch crash investigators head for Ukraine, looking for final pieces

mh17 crash site nbaaiA Dutch defence ministry team is going to the site of the MH17 plane disaster in eastern Ukraine on Monday in an effort to recover more human remains.

All but three of the 298 people on board the plane have been identified. However, no remains have yet been found of the final three, all of whom have Dutch nationality, the ministry said.

The defence ministry investigators also want to pick up parts of the plane taken by locals in the aftermath of the crash. A large convoy brought much of the wreckage to the Netherlands in December. This is currently being used to reconstruct the plane using 3D techniques.

Malaysian Airways flight MH17 was brought down on July 17. A missile from pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine is thought to have been responsible.
