Sunny Whitsun on the way

The weather over the Whitsun weekend is forecast to be dry and sunny with temperatures reaching 25 to 29 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

The improvement in the weather will begin on Friday with little wind and more sun. Temperatures will reach 17 degrees Celsius in the north and 25 degrees in the south, weather centre KNMI forecasts.

Saturday will be dry and hot, but Sunday will feel cooler with an easterly wind. However, it will remain warm enough to create a chance of thunderstorms in the evening, the KNMI says.

The wind will turn southerly on Whit Monday and temperatures will rise to between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius. There may be rain and thunderstorms later in the day.

On Tuesday, temperatures are set to reach between 27 and 33 degrees Celsius, but things will cool off on Wednesday with temperatures forecast to be around 21 degrees with some rain for the rest of next week.
