Neelie Kroes does not want third Brussels commissioner term

Neelie Kroes, the former Dutch minister who is currently European Commissioner for the digital agenda, says she does not intend to seek a third term in office.

Kroes was competition commissioner for five years before taking over the digital role four years ago.

‘I realise that at my age, however healthy I am, that another five years in this job would be a lot,’ Kroes, who is 72, said. Instead, she will pursue ‘other challenges’, Kroes said.
