Nearly 10 tonnes of cocaine seized at Dutch ports last year

Officials seized more than 10 tonnes of illegal drugs hidden in shipments made to Dutch ports last year, the public prosecution department said on Tuesday.

In total, officials made 113 separate seizures. Cocaine from South America accounted for 9,800 kilos of the total haul. In 2012, officials made 69 drugs seizures including 3,600 kilos was cocaine and 6,700 kilos of marijuana.

The two biggest 2013 finds were hidden under consignments of bananas.
