The D66 Liberal democrats and minor Christian parties ChristenUnie and SGP finalised their deal for the 2014 budget with ministers last Friday night.
They agreed to throw their weight behind the government in return for policy concessions, giving the coalition a majority of just one in the upper house of parliament.
Dijsselbloem said other opposition parties are welcome to join in the spring talks, but ‘these three are my favourites’, broadcaster RTL Z reports.
How this new form of cooperation will pan out must be left to the future, he said. ‘We will find out how it works by doing it,’ the minister said. ‘I think all five of us want to do it with care and to continue this cooperation as best we can.’
