No UPS parcel deal with Albert Heijn

The Financieele Dagblad on Saturday retracted its claims that parcel delivery service UPS had agreed a deal with the Albert Heijn supermarket group to set up pick-up points in some 700 supermarkets.

The article, which had been seen by UPS before publication, was based on a misunderstanding, the paper said.

UPS subsidiary Kiala is delivering the technology for 700 pick-up points for Bol.com in Albert Heijn stores. But there is no question of UPS itself using the system, the paper said. Online retailer Bol.com is part of the Ahold group.
