Big cities to get bigger as Dutch population grows

The population of the Netherlands is set to grow by 650,000 people between 2012 and 2025, with cities accounting for the bulk of the increase, the national statistics office CBS said on Tuesday.

The rural population will continue to shrink as more people move to the cities, the CBS said. The total population will hit 17.4 million people.

The population of Amsterdam will grow by 75,000, taking its population to 875,000.
