The Netherlands has 1,290 super rich

The number of super rich people in the Netherlands has risen by 85 to 1,290 over the past year, according to a new report on the world’s ultra wealthy.

Their combined assets have risen 9.4% over the past year to $175bn. This is equivalent to around 20% of the Netherlands’ gross domestic product, the Financieele Dagblad said.

The report includes people with net assets of over $30m in its super rich list.

In European terms, the Netherlands is in eighth place, sandwiched between Norway and Russia. Germany has the most super rich citizens in Europe – 18,000.
