New Feyenoord stadium unlikely as local party says it will vote no

It is almost certain that Rotterdam football club Feyenoord will not get a new stadium, now local party Leefbaar Rotterdam has said it will vote against the plan.

This means there is no majority in favour of the council supporting the development with a €165m guarantee. D66, which is a member of the city’s coalition, has already said it will vote against.

Leefbaar Rotterdam says the project, with a total cost of €365m, is too risky for the council to get involved in and does not have the support of locals.
