Get the sunscreen out: it will be sunny and warm all week

The warm, sunny weather is set to continue all week, with temperatures as high as 27 Celsius on Wednesday, according to weather forecasters.

It may be misty in the mornings but the temperature will range from around 20 Celsius on the Wadden Islands to the mid-20s in central and southern parts of the country, the KNMI weather bureau said.

It will be cooler in coastal areas and high cloud may obscure the sun at times.

Next weekend is also set to be sunny and dry with little or no wind, the KNMI said. The long-term forecast also shows little change, but rain is more likely towards the end of next week.

Online weather bureau weeronline.nl is slightly less optimistic about the long-term forecasts.
