Fox postpones football channel by two weeks

New Dutch television channel Fox Sport will begin broadcasting live football on August 19, two weeks later than planned, Nos television said on Friday.

The company, which owns the rights, had planned to start transmissions on August 1 when the new football season begins, but is still in negotiations on financial agreements with Dutch cable companies.

According to the Nos, which has the rights to edited highlights, Fox has now reached agreement with cable operator Ziggo.

Fox bought a 51% stake in Dutch football channel Eredivisie Live last year and is launching a channel showing sport, films and series.
