New king and queen kick off nationwide tour in the north
King Willem-Alexander and queen Máxima kicked of their tour of the 12 Dutch provinces on Tuesday with visits to Groningen and Drenthe.
The nationwide tour follows Willem-Alexander’s investiture as king on April 30 and aims to introduce the new king to the wider public.
On Thursday the couple will visit Gelderland and Utrecht, with the rest of the day trips taking place in June.
