MPs want permanent alternative for high-speed service to Brussels

MPs want ministers to look at the feasibility of running a full-service, permanent alternative to the Fyra high-speed service to Brussels.

Intercity trains between Amsterdam, Antwerp and Brussels were scrapped last year when the Fyra service was introduced but that was suspended because of technical problems.

At the moment, there are eight intercity trains a day between The Hague and Brussels but no direct connection with the Dutch capital.
