Republicans ready to campaign around abdication
The Dutch republican society Nieuw Republikeins Genootschap has built up a ‘war chest’ of €25,000 to carry out campaigns around the abdication of queen Beatrix, the NRC reported on Thursday.
Membership of the NRG has gone up from 1,200 to 2,000 since queen Beatrix announced she would stand down at the end of this month.
