The cost of parking in a car park rose by an average 9% last year, according to research by retailers’ association Detailhandel Nederland.

The organisation monitored charges at 80 car parks and found inflation-busting increases in more than 60%. The biggest increase was booked by the Plaza garage in Rotterdam, where fees doubled over the year.
