Teen suicide leaves note naming tormentors

The 15-year-old girl who killed herself by jumping under a train after years of bullying left a note naming her tormentors, the girl’s mother told broadcaster BNN on Tuesday night as part of an anti-bullying campaign.

Fleur Bloemen, from the Bible belt village of Staphorst, died in early December in front of several fellow pupils from her school.

‘Bullies, get in touch with us and see how sad we are,’ Fleur Bloemen’s father said in an emotional interview. ‘Then maybe you will never do it again.’

Fleur was the second victim of bullying in the Netherlands to kill herself within a short space of time. In November, 19-year-old Tim Ribberink committed suicide at his home, leaving a message on his mobile phone saying he had been bullied all his life.
