Fyra services cancelled because of snow damage

The high speed train service between Amsterdam and Brussels remains cancelled on Friday after ice damaged three Fyra trains on Thursday.

Engineers are trying to establish the cause of the damage, leading the train operators to halt services ‘for safety reasons’.
Passengers who cannot delay their journeys will be able to use ordinary trains with a bus connection between Breda or Roosendaal and Antwerp. The traditional intercity service between the two capitals was scrapped when the high-speed link came into use in December.
The Fyra service has been hit by reliability problems since it started, and passenger groups in both the Netherlands and Belgium have called for action.
